The Frugal Bunny!

Up super early this morning playing Mama Bunny!  And was VERY surprised to see Papa Bunny hopping down the stairs to help this year!  ;)

So, here's what finally made it into Boy Bunny's basket at 5 a.m.:

  • 2 little metal gardening tools ($1 each from the Dollar Spot at Target)
  • New Seed Packets (some recycled from last year's garden planting)
  • Bubbles (recycled)
  • Egg-shaped sidewalk chalk (old clearance buy $0.10)
  • Some play money for his grocery store ($1 from the Dollar Spot at Target)
  • An obnoxious talking egg toy *sigh* (recycled every year)
  • Children's devotional Bible and the Easter Story DVD/story book/activity book (about $32, but SO worth it!)
  • Brand-new hardcover "My Friend Rabbit" book ($0.25 at a yard sale).

We recycled the same letter from the Bunny from my son's first Easter and added the basket he made in preschool.  Bunny had a plate of green peppers ('cause this Mama forgot this is now a Pinterest holiday and didn't grab any carrots at the market!) and left little flour paw prints on the hardwood!  This year I invested in 36 new (and matching!) large plastic eggs ($1/6 at the Dollar Tree) and filled them with things we already had on hand:  finger puppets, Easter-themed rubber duckies, carnival trinkets, and a couple with Goldfish crackers, fruit snacks, and M&Ms speckled eggs (6 to be exact!), 2 Trader Joe's Joe-Joe's, and a few Vanilla Wafers.

We've got hard-boiled eggs cooling and waiting to be colored (with dye kits bought on clearance for less than $0.10!), yes, a little late this year, but it will still be a fun activity to do together and will look great on our Easter dinner table!  And now this Mama Bunny can hop back and enjoy her Godiva French Vanilla while waiting for the Boy to wake up!

HaPpY EaStEr Everybunny!

.........Oh!  I hear hopping upstairs!!!  Showtime!
