We have done a ton of overseas travel since my son was an infant, and in those early trips, travel with him was quite difficult to manage. We had to call ahead to all of the airlines to be sure we had seating together in a "bulkhead" row that had a bassinet, and if we were lucky enough to get this special family seating, that meant no storage space for all of the carry-ons and the diaper bag! On many flights, we were seated in the rear of the plane in the middle of a 5-seat row and the only option for infants was a "portable bassinet" which was nothing more than a contraption that looked like an old dirty gym bag! No room to set baby down at all. So we ended up carrying him in our arms or wearing him in the Ergo for most of the flights, and some of the flights were more than 10 hours long!
